SEX EDUCATION :) I want to become a high school sex education teacher because i feel that the subject is very important to high school students. I am very open about the topic and feel that i would be a great teacher for the subject. I realize that it's a very touchy subject and can be controversial as to what should be taught in the school systems but here are some pictures, videos, links, and reasons why it is important for youth to be learning about sex education! :)

This first video is a funny clip from MadTV. It is showing how girls get pressured into having sex and the actress is wanting to wait for the right time. Don't take it too seriously tho! I rate this video a 2/5. 1.
I thought this video was very interesting seeing as President Obama had a say in Sex Education and said himself that yes he thinks it's a good idea to teach some Sex Ed to younger kids. Saying that he would want his 2 daughters knowing about certain things. My question is, if the President agrees on teaching Sex Education, then why are there still abstinence courses being taught? I rate this video a 4/5 because it was interesting but also kind of short.

In this video, they are saying that Comprehensive Sex Ed is the way to go. It also gives a lot of statistics on sex facts like transmitted diseases and pregnancy rates. I give this video a 5/5. I feel like it was a very educational video.

This is just a really funny video of 2 teenagers and a mother is promoting condoms for safe sex. I give it a 3/5. Shows that using condoms is safe. It's a good laugh.

I also liked this link a lot. It's interesting to see how many teenage girls are pregnant each year and it is proved that students who take a Comprehensive Sex Ed course are less likely to become pregnant as a teen. I give it a 5/5.
Knowing about contraceptive methods is VERY important especially when one becomes sexually active. I found this to be a great resource and I rate it a 5/5.
1. There are two types of Sex Education courses. Abstinence only and Comprehensive. And I feel that youth today need to be learning a Comprehensive education.
2. There are very very many contraceptive methods and if one is sexually active, there should be no reason that they aren't using protection.
3. Lots of teenagers have a hard time with talking about sex within their homes, so the solution for todays youth to learn about sex and their bodies is to learn it within the schools.
4. As i researched a little bit, it seemed as though more of the southern states like Texas and Louisiana teach more Abstinence courses than Comprehensive ones. I feel it is this way because there is a more conservative population in those states compared to Oregon or California.
5. Sex is a very important topic in today's society and teenagers need to be learning about it! It is a very hushed subject in many places but teens need to know the dangers it can have. But also have the knowledge that it is not a bad thing. There are so many clueless sexually active teens and in some cases adults.
